Sometimes I have these moments – days – weeks if I’m really lucky, when writing goes wonderfully. Last week I tore through two chapters on my current project. This morning, a story idea someone else gave me (keys, Mom) formed itself into something I can work with. I reread last week’s chapters and liked them. I’m reading a great fantasy novel. My mind is flipping between the three fantasy stories and playing. I work briefly on one, do a little laundry, work on another, read a little, eat a quick lunch, back to writing. I don’t want anyone to phone or knock on my door; I’m not going to leave the house – I’ll just enjoy my lovely writerly day. Because I know it won’t last and I need to treasure every moment. So don’t call me. I’m in writer’s heaven and don’t want to be disturbed.
