I’ve been asked to speak at four elementary schools as part of the Calgary Public Library’s It’s a Crime Not To Read program.
Here’s the spiel: “It’s a Crime Not to Read is an early literacy program in Calgary that connects students in grades 2 to 4 with books, reading, life-long learning and positive community relationships.”
Police officers read to the kids once a month. They also get special treats, like a visit from an author. It sounds like a wonderful program, and I’m thrilled to be invited to participate.
