It’s A Crime Not To Read

I’ve just finished my fourth school in my It’s A Crime Not To Read visits. I had a wonderful time, in schools all around Calgary.

I read to the kids, always making sure I stopped at exciting spots. I talked about the process of writing and the endlessness of editing, and answered all kinds of wonderful questions.

In each group, we made up a story, including falling down a hole in the school into an alligator-infested lake, and dragons taking over a school. (It was the tails poking out of their pants that gave them away).

I love the wacky imaginations of kids! Now, back to writing.
